On March 3, 2022, Jiangsu Huaxi Village Marine Engineering Service Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huaxi Offshore") and Wuhan Marine Machinery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Wuhan Marine Machinery") signed a contract for the construction of Huaxi Offshore 1600T wind power installation platform (hereinafter referred to as "Huaxi 1600"). In June of the same year, the "West China 1600" successfully held the commencement ceremony at the production base of Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.

As a key investment project of West China Offshore Engineering, the construction of West China 1600 has been carried out in an orderly manner. The project team has made concerted efforts to advance in an orderly manner. With the battle slogan of "competing for nodes, rushing for launching, and ensuring delivery of ships", it has firmly grasped the key points, scientific analysis, accurate research and judgment, classified implementation, and innovative technology to improve work efficiency. For example, the installation mode of 144 lifting gear boxes on the ship has been changed from the vertical installation after assembly and welding of the previous mounting frame to the single piece horizontal installation. The process has been moved forward, which has reduced the installation difficulty and improved the installation environment, and the overall installation time has been reduced by more than 20%.

In order to speed up the construction progress of sections and ensure the docking and closing on schedule, 126 sections of the whole ship were distributed to 7 construction sites according to the type of sections, and finally integrated into the Shanghai Shipyard of China Shipbuilding Group for docking and carrying after the overall layout of the General Contractor's Wuhan Shipbuilding Machinery Co., Ltd. and the active coordination of the Builder's Jiangsu Dajin Shipyard. Since the commencement of the project on June 30, 2022, after nearly 8 months of intensive construction, the midship of the ship has been successfully closed.

We should walk fast and steadily. In order to build "West China 1600" into a fine ship that can be used, easy to use and durable, the project team has always strict requirements on the construction quality and will not relax! In order to ensure the strength of the hull, thousands of welds in more than 40 sections of the midship of the hull have passed the inspection without the inspection of the inspection personnel of the third party.
